The Indian education landscape is vast and diverse, mirroring the country’s rich cultural heritage and socio-economic differences. Despite significant progress over the years, the sector continues to face numerous challenges, particularly in infrastructure.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Many schools, especially in rural and underprivileged areas, lack basic amenities such as classrooms, toilets, and drinking water facilities, hampering the quality of education and contributing to high dropout rates. To mitigate this challenge, organisations like Round Table India <\/strong>are playing a vital role in bridging the gap.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The organisation is a young men’s association and has been at the forefront of transforming the educational infrastructure across India. Established on the principles of “Service Through Fellowship,” Round Table India focuses on building classrooms and providing essential facilities to underprivileged schools, fostering a conducive learning environment for millions of children.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Round Table India is a strong association with over 5,000 members, available in more than 138 cities today. Each of these cities has different chapters, totalling close to 350. These chapters collaborate with local governments or associations to identify schools based on their specific needs,” said Mr. Tr. Chaitanya Dev Singh, National President, Round Table India.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the organisation\u2019s flagship initiatives is the “Freedom Through Education” (FTE) project, which aims to provide quality school infrastructure to children with limited access to education. Since its inception, the organisation has built 9,272 classrooms in 3,782 projects, impacting 10.2 million children in India.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Recently, members of Round Table International visited India to assess the initiatives of Round Table India. Daniele Cusi, President, Round Table International; Krister Vellet, Secretary, Round Table International; Omar Himmiche, Treasurer, Round Table International; and Christopher Mintoff, Vice President, Round Table International, were part of the visiting delegation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They emphasised that as a global organisation, Round Table International ensures its associations fulfil their responsibilities effectively. The organisation maintains a rigorous oversight process, reflecting its commitment to mutual support and global collaboration.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The organisation collaborates with local government bodies and community associations to identify schools in need. Once a potential project is identified, Round Table India conducts thorough assessments to ensure that the infrastructure provided will have a significant impact on learning outcomes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This meticulous process ensures that the resources are allocated efficiently and that the projects meet the specific needs of each community. For instance, in a small village near Nagpur, Maharashtra, the organisation\u2019s intervention led to a dramatic rise in school attendance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

“In a school situated in a small village near Nagpur, Maharashtra, we first started with 8 classrooms last year, when the attendance was just 136 students. After providing 8 classrooms, it increased to 450 kids. This year, we provided 5 more classrooms, and now the strength is 650 kids,” added Mr. Singh<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Round Table India aims to create classrooms that are not only functional but also inviting and comfortable for students. “We are only into permanent infrastructure providing proper benches, fans, lights, ventilation, and a good atmosphere for the kids to study,” said Mr. Singh<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This commitment to quality infrastructure helps enhance student attendance and retention, ultimately contributing to a better educational experience for children from marginalised sections.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With organisations like Round Table India expanding their reach, they are serving as a beacon of hope and a model for other organisations aiming to make a difference in the education sector. This will not only increase the number of students enrolling in schools but will also empower the next generation to dream big and achieve their full potential.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
