While Ladakh region has made significant progress in <\/span>terms of development,access to quality education still <\/span>remains a challenge, Delhi based Sai Seva Sansthan <\/span>Trust have worked on several initiatives to improve <\/span>access <\/span>to education <\/span>for <\/span>students.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are pulling out all the stops in ladakh, set up in <\/span>the year 2021 <\/span>Sai Seva Sansthan Trust <\/span>an <\/span>organization focused on ensuring access and quality of <\/span>education in Government Schools in remote villages, <\/span>the organisation has since then, adopted some schools <\/span>across both the districts of Leh , where they have <\/span>helping built playgrounds, remote schools, provided <\/span>classroom furniture, renovating schools, for local <\/span>students. Many years back Founder of Sai Seva <\/span>Sansthan Trust Nikhil Singh was hiking the heights of <\/span>Ladakh when he came upon local teachers to Leh to <\/span>get mid-day meal supplies and uniforms for their <\/span>students, a journey that usually takes more than four <\/span>days. Seeing such commitment inspired the founders <\/span>of Sai Seva Sansthan Trust Nikhil & Sharad Singh to <\/span>start an initiative to improve education for kids in the <\/span>remotest of villages. Since then the Delhi based trust <\/span>has <\/span>been <\/span>working <\/span>with <\/span>teachers <\/span>& <\/span>children <\/span>in <\/span>vario<\/span><\/p>\n

capacities. As per Nikhil Singh, \u201cMany are unaware just <\/span>how tough & treacherous the terrain is, while on one <\/span>of my treks, I fell ill and stayed for a night at a village <\/span>which had just very few homes\u201d The village had <\/span>nothing <\/span>else, <\/span>no <\/span>medical <\/span>facilities, <\/span>no <\/span>shops. I <\/span>managed <\/span>to survive that ordeal despite suffering from lack of <\/span>oxygen\u2019 It was during that trek Nikhil Singh came <\/span>across a school which had only four-five teachers & <\/span>very few students. \u201dIt was only then I decided to do <\/span>something <\/span>to <\/span>improve <\/span>the <\/span>lives <\/span>of <\/span>school <\/span>children<\/span><\/p>\n

there.\u201d For us at Sai Seva Sansthan Trust, education <\/span>does <\/span>not <\/span>have <\/span>a <\/span>season. <\/span>We <\/span>work <\/span>12 <\/span>months <\/span>in <\/span>a <\/span>year, <\/span>travelling <\/span>to <\/span>schools, <\/span>providing <\/span>equipment\u2019s, <\/span>conducting workshops or training teachers to ensure <\/span>the students get the best education \u201dNikhil explained <\/span>having something as essential as a playground, he <\/span>maintains, gives parents an incentive to enrol their <\/span>children in nearby government schools, instead of <\/span>sending <\/span>them <\/span>alone <\/span>to <\/span>private <\/span>schools in <\/span>distant <\/span>Leh.<\/span><\/p>\n

And Nikhil is driven to that little extra bit. Sai Seva <\/span>Sansthan Trust just helped the Jamyang High school to <\/span>improve their class rooms. As per Director of Jamyang <\/span>school leh, Geshe Lobzang Samstan winters are very <\/span>tough in Ladakh but support from Sai Seva Sansthan <\/span>Trust especially Nikhil & Sharad Singh has made life <\/span>quite easier for the students. Students of the school <\/span>too <\/span>are <\/span>excited <\/span>that <\/span>management <\/span>of <\/span>Sai <\/span>Seva is <\/span>leaving <\/span>no <\/span>stone <\/span>unturned <\/span>to <\/span>help <\/span>them. <\/span>Ultimately, <\/span>Sai <\/span>Seva<\/span><\/p>\n

Sansthan trust is to reach out to more, similarly <\/span>inaccessible <\/span>areas, <\/span>not <\/span>just <\/span>in <\/span>India <\/span>but <\/span>across <\/span>the <\/span>World and to create happy learning spaces for <\/span>Children.<\/span><\/p>\n
